Huawei Mate 20 X update B185 changes files layout and enables Leica watermark by default

Mate 20 X update

Of late, Huawei has been rather quick in pushing out updates to its devices. The Huawei Mate 20 X is the company’s flamboyant offering with a big battery, an expansive display and of course, a stylus, getting the attention on priority.

The Chinese OEM has now seeded EMUI 9.0.0.185 over-the-air (OTA) update to the Huawei Mate 20 X that improves a few aspects of the phone. The changes include changes in the layout of the file format as well as a default facility of adding the watermark on photos.

The changelog put forth by the company reveals that the latest update, which is of the size of 224MB, changes the layout of the files in the folder to 3 x 4 format. In addition to that, now the images taken by the rear camera module will sport a Leica watermark by default.

Yes, you can remove the watermark from the settings of the camera app.

For the security patch, the newest update bumps the device to January 2019 security patch, which we feel is a bit late as we are pretty much advanced into the current month already.

The update is likely to hit the users of the Huawei Mate 20 X in a phased manner. To be sure if the OTA has reached you please go to the Settings option of your handset and then go to Update before you hit the System Update option.

Huawei is currently busy rolling out Android Pie update for Honor 8X, Mate 9, Nova 3E, P10, etc. but they haven’t forgotten to bring new watch faces and fix bugs via an update to Watch GT either.
