The basic reasoning behind the inclusion of the notch on phones is that manufacturers want us to have huge display screens without increasing the current size of phones, thus resorting to a small display cutout to house the front-facing gizmos on any phone. Well, with the Huawei Honor Note10, the company has just defied this argument thanks to the smartphone’s super large display screen, front-facing camera, and speakers, all without the need to resorting to a display notch.

At a time when every other smartphone vendor has resorted to the notch, it’s a good thing to see Huawei doing otherwise. But is this enough to lure more buyers? That we can’t tell for now. But what we can tell you right away are the specs, features, and pricing of the Honor Note10.

Honor Note10 specs
  • 6.95-inch FHD+ AMOLED display
  • Kirin 970 chipset
  • 6GB RAM
  • 64GB or 128GB expandable storage
  • Dual 24MP + 16MP main camera
  • 13MP front camera
  • 5000mAh battery
  • Android 8.1 Oreo

On paper, the Honor Note10 is a beast of a phone. The specs you find are very similar to what you find inside other Huawei flagship phones beginning with last year’s Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Given its monstrous display screen, Huawei gave it an equally massive battery unit that should be good to last a full day. However, since Huawei is marketing the device as a gaming smartphone, it might not be possible to go a full day on a single charge with non-stop gaming.

Speaking of which, the company has included its new gaming technology dubbed GPU Turbo in the hope that with its massive 7-inch display screen, the Note10 will become a hit among gamers.

Moving on, the Honor Note10 packs a dual 24MP + 16MP camera while the front gets a 13MP shooter. The phone also comes with dual-SIM connectivity, USB-C and NFC support, but you are also missing out on the 3.5mm audio jack.

BTW, you must have noticed the use of “Note” and “10” together a la Samsung. Well, that’s what Huawei has done and it says a lot about which device the Honor Note10 will be going against. As for the pricing, it’s valued at CNY 2799 (about $410) for the base model and CNY 3199 (about $470) for the 128GB model.

Honor says you can grab the phone in any of Magic Night Black or Phantom Blue color variants.
