Huawei Honor 8 Pro update (B150) rolling out with bug fixes and new security patch

Huawei has started rolling out a new update to Huawei Honor 8 Pro. The OTA update should reach your device soon. If automatic updates are turned on for your device, you will receive a notification.

The latest update raises the version number to DUK-L09C675B150 from the previous DUK-L09C675B140. It weighs around 313 MB and brings bug fixes and a new security patch.

The official changelog brings the following bug fixes:

  • Thermal optimization is done
  • Play store download application issue is fixed
  • Foreground application closing issue is fixed.

Apart from the above bug fixes, the update also brings the Google security patch that takes care of any vulnerability on your device. You should also expect under the hood performance improvements.

It is recommended to have at least 50% battery while installing the update. Plus, if you have a limited data plan, you should download the update on a Wi-Fi network.

If the update hasn’t arrived on your device yet, go to Settings – About- Software update to manually check for the update.

  1. Don’t use the EMUI 5.1 update on your Honor 8 pro. Chances are that it will brick your phone. Mine did yesterday, and after a long travel to the local service center I was one of many unhappy 8 pro owners there. Luckily they did a rollback for us, but what a way to spent a Saturday. So be warned.
