Huawei DLI-TL20 hits WiFi Alliance, gears up for release in short future

The Huawei DLI-TL20, believed to be a future Honor device, has passed the WiFi Alliance before as model numbers DLI-L22 and DLI-L42, but this new DLI-TL20 that has passed through the WiFi Alliance appears to be a new variant of these earlier phones.

The DLI-TL20 model number hints that the device could be made in India (as attested to by “DLI,” perhaps short for Delhi, India), since the firmware version says “Delhi.” The device will run Android 7.0 Nougat, which means that, whatever the handset will be named in the final run, it will be one of Huawei’s Android handsets.

Few details are given, but the evidence suggests the DLI-TL20 could be an Honor Holly 3 or Huawei Honor 6X variant. The Honor Holly 3 was the first smartphone Huawei launched with the “Made In India” label. The Chinese Android OEM launched the Holly 3 in India back in October of last year.

The “TL20” matches ending of the model number for Huawei Honor 6 Plus (PE-TL20), so it could be a 6 Plus variant for Indian customers. The WiFi Alliance certification, like Bluetooth SIG and FCC certifications, hint that it won’t be long before the device becomes official.

This is all we know regarding the handset for now, but if new information surfaces, you’ll be the first to know.
