There is no firmware leak, at least yet, but a video of HTC One M8 running Android 5.0 Lollipop update with Sense 6.0 has shown up in the wild. If you own an M8, you probably very well remember that HTC promised to release the Lollipop update for the device by the end of January, and thanks to this video leak, we now know that update is about ready, and that HTC shouldn’t face any issues fulfilling the promise.
In the last year or two, we’ve seen many upcoming updates from OEMs leak, but it is surprisingly quite for Lollipop update. Who knows, maybe we’re a day or two away from a HTC One M8 Lollipop firmware leak?
Anyways, the Lollipop update, as can be seen in the video, looks pretty neat.
You can see the new Recents screen from the stock Android 5.0, as also lock screen notifications, new notification shade with double swipe for quick settings toggles and the settings screen.
It’s apparent, only for good, that HTC hasn’t tweaked the stock UI too much, and has used the new UI elements from Android 5.0 update as it is. We can only wish the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi take heart from this, and don’t try to overcome Lollipop is a way that destroys the very update looks-wise.
Here’s a video that shows you Android 5.0 update for HTC One M8, for as much as 3:52 mins.
