We aren’t too sure what HTC’s exact intentions are with its first ever Android tablet — ripping it off the tablet friendly Android 3.0 and instead launching with Android 2.4 (for phones) — but for whatever you can make outta it, the HTC Flyer’s Wi-Fi only version’s price has hit one German Store, and it’s €499. It’s cool only if you’re in a world without Motorola Xoom — which again is perfectly impossible for us.
FYI, the Wi-Fi + 3G connectivity loaded Flyer’s price also hit us before, and it was whopping €669 — of course the chip doesn’t cost that much but that’s always it.
The Flyer comes with Android 2.4 (upgradeable to Android 3.0, honeycomb), a (just!) 7 inch screen, 1024×600 pixel resolution, and with mostly all contemporary mobile telephony tech which we expect from an Android tablet. Does it tingle enough? Time will tell — if Xoom wasn’t enough to spoil the high-flyer expectations of HTC, what about Samsung’s Tab 10.1 — which is well solid too, for its screen, weight, processors and everything else, hmm?
Speaking of tablets, try your luck winning the XOOM from Motorola itself !
