We hate to break this to you, but if you were hoping for official Marshmallow update for the mid-range HTC Desire 510, 516 and 610 devices, then you’d so disappointed to know that it won’t ever happen.
HTC never even released the Lollipop update for any of these mid-range devices released in 2014, and it has no plans for that either. So the question for an official Marshmallow update for Desire 510, 516 and 610 devices doesn’t make sense at all.
However, thanks to the open nature of Android, there are always good chances of getting the latest Android update on your device even when the manufacturer declines it for the so-called “performance reasons” ..phew!
CM13 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow base will be releasing in mid-october, say 15-20 days after the official release of Marshmallow update on Sept. 29th.
You can get your HTC Desire 510, 516 and 610 updated to Android Marshmallow using the CM13 ROM, which should be available for the said devices before the end of 2015.
