How to stop Enhanced messaging alert with confirmation ID on Samsung Galaxy S8

We started at the bottom, being able to make nothing but phone calls from mobile phones, and now these pocket devices are capable of doing so much more. However, when network carriers try to reinvent the wheel by trying to enhance age-old features like SMS with “Enhanced messaging”, some issues are bound to arise. There have been several reports of “Messenger’s enhanced features have been enabled. (Confirmation ID: XXXXXX)” popping up every now and then on Galaxy S8 devices, and here’s how you can resolve it.

  1. Head over to the Messages app on your Galaxy S8.
  2. Press the More button on the top-right corner of the screen and then select Settings.
  3. Scroll down to find Enhanced messaging and make sure that the feature is enabled.

Once you have Enhanced messaging enabled for the stock Messages app, the continuous loop of alerts should finally be put to sleep.
