Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is one of the latest entrants to the world of hack-and-slash games. The game, which went live on the 20th of November, is a successor to the 2014-release Hyrule Warriors, but on a much grander scale.
While the original Hyrule Warriors had an all-encompassing universe of its own, the sequel, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a part of The Legend of Zelda storyline. It depicts the Great Calamity that took place 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The game is highly addictive in all its forms, but playing with a friend you can bet your life on just takes the experience to a whole new level. Today, we’ll explore the multiplayer angle of the game and help you get the most out of it.

Does Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity support online multiplayer?
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has a rather gripping single-player campaign, which throws a plethora of brain-wracking and soul-crushing challenges at you.
Being able to share that experience with a friend — or beating them in a duel — sitting 100s of miles away would’ve been awesome, but, sadly, the Hyrule Warriors sequel has written off the possibility of an online multiplayer. The game, like most Musou games, does not and will not have online multiplayer capabilities.

Does Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity support offline multiplayer?
As mentioned, Hyrule Warriors doesn’t support online multiplayer, but it still supports offline multiplayer, in co-op, split-screen mode. You cannot add more than two players for multiplayer, of course, but a split-screen co-op is still a great option to have.
You can play every mission in the game in split-screen co-op mode, which makes the game a lot more fun.
When opted for the split-screen mode, your screen will be split horizontally — top and bottom — and you’ll get to see your friend tagging along with you on your epic journey. Read on to learn how to start playing the game in split-screen mode.

How to play Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity in Split-Screen mode?
As mentioned, you can play the entire Age of Calamity title in split-screen mode, and it’s hardly complicated.
To go into ‘Two player mode,’ first, you’ll have to go to the ‘Map’ screen and select the playing mode toggle located in the left-hand corner of the map screen.
Hit the left analog stick to bring up the two-player prompt and confirm the action by hitting ‘Yes.’
Finally, hit the left and right analog sticks, together, on the controllers you’re trying to use. That’s it! Your two-player setup would be completed. You can pick any mission and begin playing.
