How to Get All Templar Keys in AC Black Flag Resynced

There are five Templar Keys in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced. One comes from the main story, while the other four come from Templar Hunt side questlines tied to specific NPCs and regions.

If a hunt marker is missing, keep pushing the main story first. Templar Hunts and some city questlines can be gated behind story progress, especially the Kingston chain for Anto.

Templar Key requirements before you start hunting

KEY!The full set is not just the four Templar Hunt rewards. Your total needs to be five keys: the story key from Du Casse during A Single Madman, plus the four hunt keys from Upton Travers, Rhona Dinsmore, Opia Apito, and Anto.

The Templar Hunts appear after enough story progress, with the broader hunt system opening once you are far enough into the game. If you are checking the map early and do not see every marker, that usually means the relevant area or chain is not available yet.

The manor reward is tied to the Damn Fine Gear side objective at Great Inagua. That is where the keys are ultimately used, so you can collect them in the field and return later when the full set is ready.

All Templar Keys at a glance

The hunt order is flexible once the markers are available, but each hunt has to be finished as a complete questline. Talking to the NPC only starts the chain; the key comes after you finish the linked missions that follow.

Du Casse story Templar Key

The first Templar Key comes from the main story. Progress until A Single Madman, assassinate Du Casse, and the key is added automatically.

This is the key players often miss when counting. The map points you toward four Templar Hunts, but the armor door needs five total keys, so the Du Casse key is part of the same unlock even though it is not earned from a hunt.

Upton Travers Templar Hunt key

Mark the Upton Travers hunt

Open the map and select the Upton Travers Templar Hunt marker in Nassau, Eleuthera.

Travel to the NPC

Go to the marked location and speak with the NPC to begin the questline.

Follow the linked missions

Keep tracking the follow-up quests from the map as they appear in the area.

Finish the chain

Complete the full Upton Travers hunt line to receive its Templar Key.

Expect a focused hunt chain to take around 15-20 minutes if you stay on task. The name can be a little confusing because Vance Travers is associated with this hunt, but the marker to follow is the Upton Travers Templar Hunt.

Rhona Dinsmore Templar Hunt key

Find Rhona Dinsmore’s marker

Look for the Rhona Dinsmore Templar Hunt in Havana, Dry Tortuga.

Start the hunt chain

Mark the quest, travel to the location, and begin the first mission from Rhona Dinsmore.

Track each follow-up

After each mission, use the map to keep following the next quest in the same chain.

Complete the final mission

Finish Rhona Dinsmore’s full questline to earn another Templar Key.

This chain is tied to the Havana side of the hunt set. You may see slight spelling variants for names such as Hilary/Hillary Flint or Julian/Julien du Casse, but the important part is following the Templar Hunt marker and finishing the chain attached to it.

Opia Apito Templar Hunt key

Select Opia Apito’s hunt

Mark the Opia Apito Templar Hunt near Cayman Sound, Castillo de Jagua.

Go to the beach NPC

Travel to the marked area and look for the NPC on the beach.

Continue the questline

Complete the missions that open from Opia Apito’s hunt marker.

Claim the hunt reward

Finish the full Opia Apito chain to receive its Templar Key.

Do not leave after the opening encounter. Like the other hunts, Opia Apito pays out the key only after the entire questline is done, with Lucia Marquez tied to the chain.

Anto Templar Hunt key

Check Kingston for Anto

Look for the Anto Templar Hunt in Kingston, Navassa.

Progress the story if needed

If the marker is missing, continue the main story until the Kingston chain becomes available.

Start Anto’s missions

Mark the hunt, travel to Anto, and begin the questline.

Finish every linked quest

Complete Anto’s full chain, including the extra quests that appear, to earn the final hunt key.

Anto is the hunt most likely to be missing if you are trying to finish the armor early. Keep progressing until the Kingston content opens, then return to the map and pick up the chain from there.

Claim the Templar Armor and Templar Cross

Return to Great Inagua

Fast travel back to the Great Inagua manor once you have all five Templar Keys.

Enter the manor room

Go inside the manor and head to the room with the locked Templar cage or door.

Insert all five keys

Interact with the lock and place every Templar Key into it.

Open the cage to receive the Templar Armor outfit and the Templar Cross trinket.

The Templar Armor is the legendary outfit held behind the manor lock. The Templar Cross trinket comes with it and reduces damage from enemy melee attacks.

A focused run through the hunt chains can take around 1 hour and 35 minutes, while a normal playthrough with distractions can easily stretch to a couple of hours. The fastest way to finish is to keep one hunt tracked until its key is awarded before moving to the next marker.

Missing Templar Hunt markers

If a Templar Hunt is not showing, the most common cause is story progress. Keep advancing the main story until Templar Hunts and the relevant cities are unlocked, then check the map again.

The Kingston hunt for Anto is especially easy to check too early. It may not appear until later progress, so do not assume the key is bugged just because the marker is absent on your first visit.

There is also some name overlap between marker names, NPCs, and targets. Follow the actual Templar Hunt icon and complete the chain it starts, even when the person named in the mission differs from the map label.
