Apple has a nifty feature called Shared Library where you and your friends can share all of your photos in one place. After a Shared Library is created, you may add photos and video inside it by yourself from the Photos and Camera apps or automatically when you’re at home or any of the participants is nearby.
To make sharing content easy, Apple provides regular recommendations for pictures and videos that you may want to add to the Shared Library. In this post, we’ll help you understand how you can enable suggestions for your Shared Library and get recommendations for additional people.
To enable and receive suggestions for your Shared Library, you can follow the steps below.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Inside Settings, scroll down the screen and select Photos.
- On the next screen, tap on Shared Library under “Library”.
- Inside the Shared Library screen, select Shared Library Suggestions.
- On the next screen, turn on the Shared Library Suggestions toggle at the top.
You will now get periodical recommendations to add content to your Shared Library.
How to get sharing suggestions for additional people
To receive sharing suggestions for additional people inside your Shared Library, follow the steps below.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Inside Settings, scroll down the screen and select Photos.
- On the next screen, tap on Shared Library under “Library”.
- Tap on Add People inside the Shared Library Suggestions screen.
- In the screen that pops up, tap on the pictures of the people you want to get suggestions on, and then tap on Add at the top right corner.
- The chosen people will show up inside the “Suggest Moments that Include” box and you will receive relevant recommendations based on the people you selected to appear inside the photos.
When you enable Shared Library suggestions, iOS will send you a notification recommending photos you might want to add to your iCloud Shared Photo Library. These photos may include:
- pictures and videos you took with participants of the shared library
- photos and videos captured when participants were nearby
- photos of people you have interests in; who may not be part of the Shared Library
