QUICK ANSWER
Magik’s demonstrated no-assist combo starts with Medium > Down Medium > Back Quick Skill + Medium, delays into the launcher and wall splat, transforms into Darkchylde, then cashes out with her Ultimate for 74,745 damage.

This is a single high-damage Magik route performed in training mode against Star-Lord, so use it as a route to learn rather than a full Magik combo catalog. The main skill check is timing: the early launcher needs a real delay, the wall-splat sequence only happens once, and the Ultimate only comes out after Magik enters Darkchylde.

Magik route payoff and required state

Detail Value
Character Magik
Training dummy Star-Lord
Assists No assists
Damage 74,745
Required state Darkchylde before the Ultimate

Key The route is built as a solo Magik cashout. You are not using assists to keep Star-Lord in the combo, which makes it useful for learning Magik’s own launch, wall-splat, transformation, and Ultimate timing before adding team extensions later.

Full Magik route at a glance

Segment Inputs
Starter Medium > Down Medium > Back Quick Skill + Medium
Launcher Down Heavy > Forward Quick Skill + Heavy
Wall splat Jump Heavy > Forward Quick Skill
Grounded follow-up Medium > Heavy > Back Quick Skill + Heavy
Darkchylde activation Four Unique + Quick Skill
Darkchylde extension Heavy Quick Skill > Heavy Back Quick Skill
Ultimate ender Forward Quick + Quick Skill

Read the route in chunks, not as one long input string. The starter gives you the height, the launcher needs the delayed Down Heavy, and the Darkchylde portion is where the same broad Ultimate-style input logic turns into the final cashout.

Timing errors that drop Magik’s route

The first major drop point is the Down Heavy after Back Quick Skill + Medium. If you press it too early, Star-Lord will not be low enough for the launcher route; let him fall farther than you think before committing to Down Heavy.

Do not practice the launcher by doing raw Down Heavy and expecting the same behavior. The route needs the earlier hits first, so use a quick Medium setup when isolating that timing, then return to the full starter once the rhythm is stable.

The wall splat also happens once in this route. After Jump Heavy into Forward Quick Skill, the later Back Quick Skill + Heavy and Darkchylde extension should continue the combo without expecting another wall splat.

The Darkchylde input has to come out as the last hit of Back Quick Skill + Heavy connects. If you activate too late, the rest of the route falls apart; if you try the Ultimate before Darkchylde, Magik will not get the finisher this route is built around.

QUICK WIN

Drill only the delayed Down Heavy timing first: run the opener into launcher until Star-Lord consistently falls into Down Heavy, then add the wall splat and Darkchylde cashout.

Easier Magik practice routes before the full combo

Route Input idea
Medium auto-combo into Super Build Skill Gauge, then use Magik’s Medium chain so the route ends in her Super Skill.
Auto-combo into assist Super After unlocking teammates and Assemble, run Magik’s Medium chain and hold the assist input during the Super Skill to add an ally Super.

Before grinding the full 74,745-damage route, get comfortable with Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ broader combo systems. Magik can use the game’s chain and Super structure to practice clean hit confirmation, gauge spending, and assist timing without needing the full solo Darkchylde route every time.

Keep these as practice templates, not replacements for the solo route above. They teach the rhythm of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ Link Attacks, Super cancels, and team follow-ups, while the full Magik route teaches her specific wall-splat, Darkchylde, and Ultimate timing.

Magik’s role in Marvel Tōkon’s team systems

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 tag fighter built around team structure, assists, Link Attacks, Quick Skills, and the Assemble system. Those mechanics are why a no-assist Magik route matters: it gives you a complete solo route to fall back on when you want to save team resources or learn her own conversion points first.

Magik fits that structure as a sword-and-portal fighter with her Darkchylde identity as the route’s powered-up state. Once you are comfortable with this solo path, the next layer is adding team assists and Assemble spending around the same core idea: launch, keep the opponent suspended, and cash out when Magik has the state she needs.
