One of the major highlights of the Galaxy S9 launch was the camera. The variable aperture technique definitely stole the show, but as the dust settled, it is the super slow-motion video recording feature that started to gain attention.
The fact that people can record HD videos of up to 960 frames per second on the S9 was a big deal until the Galaxy Note 9 came in with some improvements to this feature, making it even better with more software tweaks while at the same time taking the exclusivity off the S9’s shoulders.
Samsung has recently started spreading this super slow-mo love beyond its 2018 flagship lineup, with the Galaxy Note 8 becoming the first beneficiary. Â The handset got this feature via an OTA update, meaning that owners can similarly capture super slow-motion videos like their S9 and Note 9 counterparts.

Given that the Note 8 has basically the same internal hardware as the Galaxy S8 and S8+, we believe it’s only a matter of time before the super slow-motion video recording functionality finds its way to the S8 duo via a software update.
In short, you don’t have to grab the Galaxy S9 or Note 9 in order to enjoy recording super slow-motion videos on your S8 handset, but you may have to wait for some time before this functionality arrives.
I just did the latest update on my s8 however the super slow motion only records for around 3-5 seconds and doesnt seem to work that well. Am i doing something wrong?
