GTA 5 lets you type in classic cheat codes for instant weapons, vehicles, super jumps, and screen-changing effects like slow motion or drunk mode. You don’t need to unlock anything or spend in-game cash to use them, and most work the moment you enter them correctly.

How to redeem codes in GTA 5
You don’t type these into a menu or a code box. Entry depends on which version of the game you’re playing.
Note: Turning on cheats disables trophies, achievements, and saving for that session, so avoid entering codes if you’re mid-mission and want progress to stick.
How to get more GTA 5 codes
These cheat codes have been built into GTA 5 since launch rather than being tied to limited-time promotions, so you won’t see a rotating batch of new ones drop every month. If Rockstar Games ever adds or changes a code, it would show up through the game’s own updates or Rockstar’s official channels, so keep an eye on those if you want to stay current.
Do these codes cost anything?
No. Every code listed here is free to use as many times as you want, and none of them require in-game currency or a purchase.
Why didn’t my code work?
The most common reason is a typo, since cheat codes need to match exactly with no extra spaces or letters. A few codes, like the ones for the Dodo seaplane, the Kraken submarine, and the Duke O’Death, also only work once you’ve met an in-game requirement first, such as finishing a specific mission or challenge.
Cheat codes turn GTA 5 into a sandbox where you can skip the grind for a specific car or turn a quiet drive into chaos with one phone call, so keep this list handy whenever you want to switch things up.
