Kitsune is the rare Secret pet from the Fall Egg with a 0.1% drop chance, and its main value is stealing fruit at night with a chance to apply the 60x Chakra mutation.
The Fall update adds four pets to Grow A Garden 2: Jackalope, Scarecrow, Red Panda, and Kitsune. Each one has a different job, but Kitsune is the chase pull because it turns successful nighttime steals into a shot at one of the strongest value mutations in the game.
New Fall pets in Grow A Garden 2
| Pet | Main use | Drop |
|---|---|---|
| Jackalope | Movement speed boost | Legendary from the Fall Egg |
| Scarecrow | Garden anti-theft defense | Mythical from the Fall Egg |
| Red Panda | Nighttime seed stealing | Super rarity, 5% from the Fall Egg |
| Kitsune | Nighttime fruit stealing and Chakra mutation chance | Secret rarity, 0.1% from the Fall Egg |
The lineup is split cleanly: Jackalope helps you move, Scarecrow protects your plots, Red Panda plays into stealing seeds, and Kitsune handles the high-value fruit steal loop. That makes the Fall Egg less about one single playstyle and more about whether you want utility, defense, or late-game profit.

How to get the Fall pets
The new Fall pets come from the Fall Egg, so getting any specific pet is tied to RNG instead of a normal shop purchase. Kitsune is a Secret pet from the Fall Egg, and its 0.1% rate makes every attempt valuable.

The Fall Egg requires Robux, and Kitsune has no pity system. You can pull it early, but you can also spend through many attempts without ever reaching a guaranteed drop.
That is the main reason Kitsune is hard to recommend as a casual target. The pet is powerful, but the path to getting it is pure chance, so the Fall Egg is easiest to justify if you also want the other Fall pets along the way.
Jackalope movement speed

Jackalope is a Legendary pet built around movement. Its passive has it bounce around your garden while adding around +7.5 walk speed, which is a small but noticeable upgrade over Bunny at roughly +5 walk speed.
The extra speed helps when you are moving between garden areas and the Fall world, but it is not a must-have upgrade. Since the gain over Bunny is only about +2.5 walk speed, Jackalope is useful quality-of-life, not a pet you need to force through bad Fall Egg luck.
Scarecrow garden defense
Scarecrow is a Mythical pet with an anti-theft role. Instead of farming speed or income directly, it reacts when another player tries to steal or shovel from your garden.
When it triggers, Scarecrow jump-scares the thief and blocks stealing during the lock duration. Nearby players can briefly see it lunge toward the target, so it is mostly valuable if your garden gets bothered often by other players.
Red Panda seed stealing

Red Panda is a Super rarity pet with a 5% chance from the Fall Egg. Its passive activates at night, sending it out to steal a seed from another player’s garden and bring it back to you.
It works like a stronger version of Fox for players who like the stealing mechanic. The tradeoff is access: Fox can be bought with regular in-game currency, while Red Panda is locked behind the Fall Egg and a much lower pull chance.
Kitsune nighttime fruit stealing
| Mechanic | Value |
|---|---|
| Activation time | Night |
| Target | Empty gardens on the server |
| Search interval | Every 5-10 seconds |
| Steal attempt chance | 85% per check |
| Return time | About 3 seconds |
| Cooldown after success | 10 seconds |
| Cooldown after failed search | About 3 seconds |
Kitsune is the main prize of the Fall pet pool because it is a Secret pet with a 0.1% drop chance. It only becomes active at night, then looks for empty gardens on the server and tries to steal fruit.
Its power comes from how often the steal loop can run. Kitsune checks for targets every few seconds, brings fruit back quickly after a successful steal, then rolls for Chakra on the returned fruit.
Use Kitsune at night in a server with plenty of empty gardens so its search loop has more chances to find fruit and roll for Chakra.
Chakra mutation value
| Chakra detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Source | Fruit stolen by Kitsune |
| Chance | 20% per successful theft |
| Multiplier | 60x sale value |
| Stacking | Not stackable on one fruit in ordinary play |
Chakra is the mutation Kitsune can apply to stolen fruit. Each successful theft has a 20% chance to return with Chakra, and the mutation carries a 60x value multiplier.
KEY!
The multiplier is why Kitsune matters so much for late-game income. As an illustration, one normal 54 kg fruit sold for around 500,000 leaves, while a similarly sized Chakra fruit reached roughly 32 million leaves; treat that as a sale-value example, not a fixed payout for every crop.
There is one crop caveat worth knowing: Giant Pumpkin cannot receive Chakra from Kitsune. That does not create a full incompatible-crop list, so if a special crop refuses Chakra, the crop may be restricted rather than Kitsune being broken.
Which Fall pet is worth chasing
| Pet | Best for |
|---|---|
| Kitsune | Late-game fruit value through 60x Chakra |
| Red Panda | Players who want stronger seed stealing than Fox |
| Jackalope | Small movement-speed improvement over Bunny |
| Scarecrow | Defending gardens from stealing and shoveling attempts |
Kitsune is the strongest prize if your goal is late-game value, but it is also the most punishing chase because of the 0.1% rate and no pity system. Red Panda is a good stealing upgrade, Jackalope is a mild movement boost, and Scarecrow is only as useful as the amount of theft pressure your garden actually gets.
If you are spending carefully, Fox and Bunny still cover the easier versions of Red Panda and Jackalope’s jobs. Kitsune is the only Fall pet here that creates a major new money route, which is why it is the best pull but not the easiest recommendation.
Outdated Kitsune and Chakra details
Older Grow a Garden and pre-Fall descriptions use different Kitsune mechanics, including crop duplication, Foxfire Chakra, Corrupt Kitsune, and alternate Chakra multipliers. Those older details do not match the current Grow A Garden 2 Fall pet behavior built around stealing from empty gardens and rolling for the 60x Chakra mutation.
For this Fall update, keep the active version simple: Kitsune steals fruit at night, may apply Chakra to that stolen fruit, and uses the timing and cooldown loop above. Treat Foxfire, Corrupt, Harmonised, and Ascended Chakra chains as separate older or advanced information until those names are part of the current Fall setup you are actually using.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Kitsune apply Chakra to every crop?
No. Giant Pumpkin cannot receive Chakra from Kitsune, and the current crop restrictions do not give a complete list of every special crop that may be blocked.
Does Kitsune have a pity system?
No. Kitsune has a 0.1% chance and there is no pity system, so repeated Fall Egg attempts never build toward a guaranteed Kitsune.
Are Foxfire Chakra and Corrupt Chakra part of the current Grow A Garden 2 Fall update?
No for the current Fall pet loop covered here. The active Kitsune setup uses regular Chakra at 60x; Foxfire Chakra, Corrupt Chakra, and related chain names come from older or separate mutation descriptions.
