Get yourself ready for the “Quidditch” with the new beta version of Harry Potter game

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is the name of the upcoming Harry Potter game launched in New Zealand as a beta version.

Harry Potter will be a “Pokémon Go” styled game, where you will have to roam the real-world streets in order to find some “points of interest”. However, no further details have been clarified.

For now, the game will not be available outside New Zealand and if you happen to live somewhere else, you cannot play it. We would still suggest that you register with the website to stay updated about the game and its further advancements and launches in other countries.

It makes sense to test this on a smaller, closed island of New Zealand, where designing and syncing the “real world” with the game’s “inbuilt maps” would be fairly easy as compared to some bigger countries.

Niantic, Inc. is the developer of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and they have been extremely successful with their previous augmented reality endeavors like Ingress and Pokémon Go

We hope that Wizards Unite surpasses Pokemon Go in popularity, however, Niantic will have to approach the game in a very different way so as to not make it Pokemon Go version 2.0, with Harry-Potter characters, but a different game in itself.
