Last month, several users started to notice that their Galaxy S8 screen was showing more red color than usual. Samsung stated that this was a software issue and that it would release a fix for it soon.

Korea got the update first, and now, T-Mobile users in U.S. are receiving a similar update to fix the red tint issue. To be honest, it isn’t really a fix, rather the update gives the user finer control over the RGB color balance of the display.

After the update, the user will see a new slider that lets you adjust the cool or warm settings. This option is available Advanced Settings for the Display. There’s also another new slider that allows you to adjust the color balance for the edge of the display.

The U.S. build is G950USQU1AQDE and it is currently being seeded as an OTA update. For now, only T-Mobile users are seeing the update on their Galaxy S8, but it should be available for others soon. The update weighs around 140 MB in size and as per the release notes, provides improved color optimization and convenient color adjustment. Do install it and let us know if it fixes the red tint, in case your device had the problem.
