Samsung, with regards to the colossal failure of last year’s Galaxy Note 7, had the need to come back strong this year. And with the Galaxy S8 and S8+, it seems like it just did, indeed. We have already seen the craze for the smartphone when the company started accepting pre-orders in its home turf.
To recall, there were nearly 550,000 pre-order requests in the first 2 days and around 700,000 pre-order requests in a week from the commencement of pre-orders. And now, i.e., only 37 days after the official launch of Galaxy S8 and S8+, the company claims that it has already sold over 1 million units of the phone in its home country.
To put it under context, its predecessors, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6 took 74 and 75 days respectively to reach the 1 million mark. Clearly, the company is selling the Galaxy S8 almost at twice the rate of its predecessor the Galaxy S7.
