Looks like the Samsung Galaxy S8 is off to a great start, in terms of sales. Last week, the smartphone went up for pre-order in Korea, and in just two days, it received over 550,000 registrations.
The Galaxy S8 was available for pre-order in Korea on April 7th. The pre-order numbers beat that of the Galaxy S7 and also the Note 7. In comparison, the Note 7 managed 400,000 pre-orders. The demand for the S8 is also 5.5 times more than that of the S7, says the report.
Samsung and the major carriers in Korea have done very good marketing for the Galaxy S8. Also, the customers who pre-order the device are being given free gifts such as the GearVR headset, Bluetooth speakers, and other accessories.
A recent report had also stated that Samsung aims on selling a minimum of 18 million units of the S8 and S8+ within the first 3 months of launch. The company is also hoping to ship around 58 million units by the end of 2017.
