Its so high because Brazil is still a developing country and they need to develop lots of sectors and moreover corruption 😐
I guess for the first time I’ve seen the price of a phone is higher in some other country than India! 😛
Well said my friend XD
Yes, it usually will be higher. Samsung will have to rely on local retailers and carriers to make the sale and all of the duties build up. And from the price, I am guessing Samsung doesn’t have a production house there and everything needs to be imported.
Samsung manufactures the handsets sold in South America in the ”Free Economic Zone of Manaus”, in northern Brazil.
The zone offers tax benefits for domestic, and multinational companies. The devices are not only expensive for taxes, but also for the high profit margins imposed by the companies. Curiously, the problem only worsened after the improvement in the purchasing power of the Brazilian population in the 90s.

prices high in everywhere may mi6 will definetly dominat the s8 after it release.
Yes indeed but the issue is mi6 wont be available in the west. Its stronghold is the east and all of its sales will go on here but s8 is very much available in the west, so there is no opportunity for competition there with xiaomi.
People in the west will have to import the phone to have it. :
