Samsung is now rumored to join the dual camera club with its upcoming Galaxy Note 8 expected to feature a dual camera setup, as per rumors. After the recent reveal of the smartphone’s codename as Baikal, this is the next biggest update regarding the upcoming Note 8.

Samsung is definitely not the first to enter into this area, but what Samsung really does well is that they provide some of the best smartphone cameras in the world with their flagship devices. Add in a dual camera setup and Samsung might just take it to the next level with the upcoming Note 8.

Though, as a setback, it also means that we wouldn’t perhaps see the dual camera on Galaxy S8, if this holds out true. There have been rumors earlier that because of extra cost, Samsung had decided against using the dual-camera for Galaxy S8, but we thought it might use the new dual camera for S8 Plus. Looks like we were wrong to assume that.

Given the backfire from the Galaxy Note 7 which was, minus the explosions, an completely excellent device, Samsung may incorporate a couple of interesting bells and whistles to its successor, the Note 8.

It would surely be interesting to see how Samsung will tackle dual camera technology and whether they’ll make it stand apart from current competition from Apple, Huawei and the like.
