Following in the footsteps of Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy J2 Ace, the 2016 edition of the Galaxy A7 is now receiving this month’s Android security patches.
The update is coming in as software version A710FXXU2CRE1 and of course, it’s available over the air. OTA updates are usually staged, rolling out to devices mostly based on regions. While we cannot tell when exactly your Galaxy A7 2016 will receive the download notification, we have a tip of how to jump ahead of the queue.
Through the Settings and About phone menu, you can regularly tap on the Software update button to check for availability of the update. You should be able to download and install it manually once it’s made available for your A7 2016 handset. If this is too much for you, well, simply sit back and wait for the OTA notification, which may take a few days to arrive.
