Travel through the Cryogenic Canal, drop into the hidden cavern, equip Magnet Bait, and keep casting in its pool until you catch Quartz Glass.

Travel to Northern Expedition
Travel to Northern Expedition and head toward the Cryogenic Canal, the island’s third base camp.

Enter the arch-shaped passage
Descend from the Cryogenic Canal and pass through the small arch-shaped opening carved into the snowy rock.

Walk under the arched bridge
Follow the path to the large arched bridge, walk underneath it, and move toward the glowing black-and-purple portal.

Drop into the small gap
Jump into the small gap beneath the bridge beside the portal and fall all the way down to the hidden entrance at GPS (20047, 610, 5857).

Enter the Astral Cavern
Enter the hidden Astral Cavern, the only place Quartz Glass spawns.

The entrance is the only tricky part: walk under the large arched bridge, drop into the small gap by the purple portal, and fall all the way down to reach the cavern.

What Quartz Glass is used for
Quartz Glass is used in two crafts, so catch a spare before leaving the cavern. It is a required material for the new Meteoric Rod. Astronomer Vega also needs it to craft the Experimental Lens, which requires one Quartz Glass, one Chaotic Golden Trout, and one Fallen Resin. Farm the amount you need for the item you plan to craft.
Common Quartz Glass farming mistakes
Fishing in the wrong pool wastes the most time. Quartz Glass will not appear in general Astral areas or other Northern Expedition pools. It spawns only in the Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern, so make sure the location name shows that specific sub-area before you start farming.
Players also miss the small gap under the arched bridge and search the canal for a normal doorway. The actual route drops straight down through the gap beside the portal. Once inside, keep Magnet Bait equipped throughout the session because Quartz Glass only bites on that bait.
