To unrestrict Stellarwave Melody in Fisch, complete Final Convergence by catching the Sparkling Aurora Isonade, activating all Astral Anomalies, collecting the required cosmic-mutated fish set, and returning to the quest NPC.
The Stellarwave Melody comes out of its questline restricted, which caps what the rod can really do until you clear one last objective. That objective is Final Convergence, and it is easily the most involved part of owning the rod — a single rare catch, the observatory’s telescopes, and a long fishing grind rolled into one quest. Finish it and the rod flips to its full, unrestricted form.
What unrestricting Stellarwave Melody actually does

If you are already holding the restricted Stellarwave Melody, this is the second half of the journey. Earning the rod and unrestricting it are two separate grinds: the restricted version drops at the end of its questline, and the cap only comes off after you clear the follow-up Final Convergence quest.
Everything below assumes the rod is already in your bag and you just want its full stats and the zodiac mechanic switched on. If you have not earned the rod yet, that comes first — see the FAQ at the end.
The Final Convergence unrestricting checklist
| Requirement | What | Key condition |
|---|---|---|
| Sparkling Aurora Isonade | Fish a whirlpool with the Stellarwave Melody rod and Truffle Worm during a Rainbow | Must be the Isonade, not a normal catch |
| Astral Anomalies | Craft the lens, charge the batteries, activate the telescopes | All five telescopes, none skipped |
| Cosmic-mutation fish set | Catch the 12 required species | Each carries a Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora mutation |
| Final Convergence hand-in | Return to the quest NPC | Only after the first three are done |
Work down the list top to bottom. The Isonade and the telescopes are one-and-done tasks you can knock out quickly, while the mutated fish set is the part that will eat most of your play time.
How to unrestrict the Stellarwave Melody rod in Fisch
Final Convergence breaks into four stages you clear in order, and the restriction only lifts once every one of them is done.
STEP 1/4
Catch the Sparkling Aurora Isonade

Equip the Stellarwave Melody rod with Truffle Worm bait and fish inside the whirlpool while a Rainbow is active, and keep casting until you land the Isonade rather than a normal catch.
STEP 2/4
Activate every Astral Anomaly

Craft the required lens, charge the batteries, then find and switch on all five telescopes, because missing even one leaves this stage unfinished.
STEP 3/4
Collect the cosmic-mutation fish set

Catch all twelve required species listed below, and confirm each one carries a Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora mutation before it counts.
STEP 4/4
Finish Final Convergence at the quest NPC

With the Isonade, all five telescopes, and the full mutated set done, return to the Stellarwave Melody quest NPC to complete Final Convergence and remove the restriction.
The whirlpool prompt labels that first catch as Isonade, and you may also see it written as Sparkling Aurora Icenade elsewhere — they point to the same fish, so don’t turn in a plain version thinking it counts. The five telescopes are spread across the map, so tick each one off as you go rather than trusting your memory.

Every cosmic-mutation fish you need
| Fish | Required mutation |
|---|---|
| Boreal Man o’ War | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Goliath Sifter | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Shimmering Silverside | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Lionfish | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Scorpionfish | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Fourhorn | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Starlet Seahorse | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| King Crab | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Frigid Angler | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Broken Arrow | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Bull Shark | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
| Largemouth Bass | Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora |
This is the grind that decides how long Final Convergence takes. You need a full set of twelve specific species, and none of them count in their ordinary form — every single fish has to be caught carrying a cosmic mutation. The four that qualify are Nova, Umbra, Celestial, and Aurora.
Because the same species can show up plain far more often than mutated, expect to re-catch several of these many times before a qualifying version appears. Keep the list handy and cross off each species only once you have landed a mutated one.
Inspect the mutation label on every catch before you tick it off the list — a correct fish with no cosmic mutation looks the same in your log but does nothing for Final Convergence.
Unrestricted Stellarwave Melody stats and its zodiac meter
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure speed | 88% |
| Luck | 244% |
| Control | 0.1 |
| Resilience | 30% |
| Max kg | Infinite |
| Progress speed | +24% |
Once Final Convergence is done, the rod stops holding back. The unrestricted Stellarwave Melody pairs very high luck with an infinite weight ceiling, so it comfortably handles the biggest catches in the game while stacking rewards.
The rod also carries a visual mechanic built around stars, constellations, and zodiacs. While you reel, different symbols pop up — Aries among them — and clicking them in the correct sequence fills the entire progress meter. Casting even spins up a black-hole portal effect, and hitting the sequence cleanly is what lets the rod max the bar so fast on big catches.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do all the required fish need the same cosmic mutation?
No. Each of the twelve fish only needs one of the four accepted mutations — Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora — and they do not have to match across the set. One species can be a Nova catch and the next an Aurora catch; the quest simply checks that every fish on the list was landed with at least one qualifying mutation.
Final Convergence isn’t completing after I return to the NPC — what did I miss?
The hand-in only fires when all three earlier stages are genuinely finished, so the usual culprit is a telescope you never switched on or a fish that counted without a valid mutation. Retrace all five telescopes first, then re-check that every species in your set was caught as a Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora before speaking to the NPC again.
Does this guide also cover how to get the Stellarwave Melody in the first place?
No — this is only the unrestriction route. The restricted Stellarwave Melody is a Stage 8 rod you earn from its own questline, and you need it in your inventory before Final Convergence opens up. If you are still working toward the rod itself, that is a separate grind that ends with a hand-in at the quest NPC in Boreal Pines.
