A custom recovery brings a world of awesomeness for the pro users among us. And today is the day for T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5 users to embrace this awesomeness as a working build of TWRP recovery is now available for the device.

It’s an unofficial build of TWRP recovery for the T-Mobile Note 5 (N920T) developed by xda user Manh_IT. The recovery version stands at the latest official TWRP version 2.8.7.1.

The recovery has already been verified to be working by a couple of users over at xda so we it’s safe to install it on your T-Mobile Note 5 as well. However, before you install it, know that flashing TWRP recovery will trip the KNOX counter on your device and void its warranty. Plus, Samsung Pay may also not work if you trip the KNOX counter.

That said, having TWRP recovery on your device has great benefits to it as well. Like you could flash custom ROMs, MODs and stuff, and be able to take TWRP backup to fully restore your device from a soft-brick.

To get TWRP on your T-Mobile Note 5, grab the Odin flashable TWRP recovery .tar file from the download link below and flash it to your device using Odin. For help, follow the link below for step-by-step instructions.

Note: Don’t try flashing the SuperSU zip in hope for getting root on your T-Mobile Note 5 via TWRP recovery. As far as we know, Samsung’s 5.1.1 firmware builds can’t be rooted by flashing SuperSU via recovery! For more info, take a look at our detailed post on Galaxy Note 5 root status.

Happy Androiding!
