We already knew that Xiaomi Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus, Mi Max 2 and Mi 5X will be among the recipients of MIUI 10, but Xiaomi recently published a roadmap that now gives us a clearer idea of when these devices will receive this huge update.
As per the company, global users of the Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus and Mi Max 2 will begin receiving the beta version of MIUI 10 in late July. However, you don’t have to wait for weeks before getting a taste of the new software.
Xiaomi fans will know that Chinese variants receive software updates ahead of their global counterparts and this is exactly the case for these devices. As of this writing, we already have download links that will grant you access to the latest MIUI 10 ROM for not only the Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus and Mi Max 2, but also the Mi 5X, which was sold exclusively in China.
One little problem with the Chinese ROM, though, is that it doesn’t come preloaded with Google Play apps and services, so you’ll have to do this manually. On the brighter side, the ROM also supports the English language, which should make things easier.
