Final boss Hedron location in Control Resonant
You meet the final boss in the 12th main mission, Contain the Crisis, with Fight the Hedron as its objective.
Fight to the Core leads Dylan to the story’s final boss, with Fight the Hedron displayed as its objective. He runs along a street covered in red resonance and pauses at a crosswalk to tell Zoe that the Patterning is getting worse, though he thinks he can still reach the core.
From the crosswalk, Dylan runs into a vortex of spiraling buildings and falls through the shifting architecture toward the light below. Keep moving through the collapsing geometric space: levitation and dashes carry him forward, while telekinetic attacks clear spawning enemies and movement keeps him out of the energy barrages. He emerges above a fractured street arena facing the rotating Hedron.

Control Resonant complete endgame explained
The endgame of Control Resonant moves through three connected story quests: Fight to the Core, The End, and The Beginning. Defeating The Hedron is only the start of the finale, with the story then shifting toward Dylan and Jesse’s fate.
| Endgame quest | What happens | Ending outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Fight to the Core | Dylan reaches The Hedron and fights through three phases, clearing enemies and attacking the exposed core. | The Hedron is defeated and the story moves into its final confrontation. |
| The End | Dylan continues through the Astral sequence, fighting hostile entities and confronting the consequences of the Hedron’s destruction. | The final confrontation concludes and Dylan survives. |
| The Beginning | Dylan returns to the Oldest House and visits Jesse, who remains in a coma. Emily reveals that Jesse has occasional spikes in brain activity. | Dylan promises to find a way to wake Jesse, giving him a new purpose after the main story. |
| A New Directive | After The Beginning, Dylan receives a new objective: Furnish the Containment Unit. | The main story is complete, but additional post-story content becomes available. |
Phase 1 – Final boss Hedron fight
The THE HEDRON health bar appears as Dylan lands among broken road sections and orbiting debris. This encounter continues across changing arenas, so the first street is only the opening stretch. Dash between platform fragments to avoid projectiles and sweeping energy, and take cover behind the roadside barricades. Kinetic attacks break up flying fragments; melee blows and telekinetic strikes deal with the crystalline spheres that close in.
As the fight pushes onto the highway section, Dylan redirects incoming barrages and throws debris into hovering sphere clusters. He also uses Launch to hurl heavy concrete chunks at The Hedron. A shockwave repels another incoming group. Dylan chains rapid melee attacks on a stunned cluster on the tarmac. When the glowing core is exposed, Dylan levitates into it and wedges a rod into its crystalline mechanism.

Inside Astral space, Dylan faces a resonance entity amid disembodied voices. A voice warns that shaping consumes the one who shapes; the exchange does not identify the speaker. Dylan drives the rod deeper into the entity, which erupts in prismatic light.
Phase 2 – Returning to the core
Dylan falls onto an inverted parking structure, then dashes across suspended platforms as they rotate under the Hedron’s lasers. On a floating piece of tarmac, melee and telekinetic attacks break apart sphere clusters. He disperses a hovering swarm with a kinetic burst before fighting a larger spiked cluster at close range.
The route turns vertical. Leap between rotating platform groups and elevated road sections while avoiding crossing lasers, then grapple across the hanging barrel platforms to the adjacent parking area. Armored spheres meet Dylan there as white laser grids sweep across his path. He hurls debris into hovering enemies from a distance, crosses back over the rotating structures to escape concentrated beams, and clears more clusters on the parking roof with melee attacks and launched objects.
With the core’s iris exposed again, Dylan rushes into it and forces another rod into the mechanism. He returns to the central entity in Astral space and dives into the sphere, setting off another violent surge of energy.
Phase 3 – Finish the Fight to the Core
For the concluding arena segment, Dylan lands on a stepped pyramid. The stairs offer cover against spiked enemies that have newly spawned. Using a blade attack, Dylan cuts through a hovering foe, then targets exposed nodes around the platform’s edge while avoiding incoming missiles. When a cluster shoots at him, he raises a shield to block the burst, then destroys the cluster.
Dylan jumps to strike a floating spiked sphere, throws debris at another high above him, and uses kinetic pulls and strikes against an enemy near the foot of the stairs. After clearing the clusters on top, he destroys one above the rear structure. A close-range pull and blast finishes another sphere.

Dylan makes his final jump into the central mechanism and levers a rod into place. Back in Astral space, he advances into the entity and drives the rod into its chest. The entity destabilizes; the surrounding illusion gives way to expanding light over the inverted skyline. In a dark void, Dylan lands on a bridge with little width while The Board sends cryptic warnings. The Fight to the Core quest completes, awarding items and source points.
Phase 4 – The End and the Astral Gauntlet
The End follows Fight to the Core and carries the final confrontation with The Hedron forward. Dylan passes through a doorway in a red monolith and meets a duplicate of himself. Holding a rod, he strikes the figure down in a burst of light, then moves through the doorway as the structure twists into a route of floating monoliths beneath a bright opening in the sky.
Cross the moving Astral platforms along the illuminated central route. Hostile red entities meet Dylan on the blocks; melee, shield bursts, and telekinetic attacks clear the way. He defeats the enemies on a raised block before jumping to the next pillar, then fights bladed foes and a larger enemy surrounded by swarms on a broad monolith top.

Dylan is propelled by a red spiral up a shaft filled with floating debris. On the higher platforms lit in red, he meets hat-wearing entities that float, along with red shadows. He slashes the shadows with his energized weapon and dodges beams fired by distant enemies. During this traversal, a +1 Patterned Thought pickup appears. Dylan runs up a rising column toward a spiked ring, then climbs the final pillar as The Board issues urgent warnings before leaping into the floating entity. As The Board declares a contract breach, the red-and-black energy tunnel reaches its end at a bright center.
Jesse’s intervention and the siblings’ outcome
Brief awakening images give way to the anomaly shrinking, flashing violet, and disappearing. Dylan opens his eyes in a concrete room and sees Jesse approaching. When she reaches him on a gurney, he tells her he did not let her take him. She checks him, then picks up a box beside him and presses it against his chest.
Dylan gasps and sits up. Jesse has collapsed beside him, and he gathers her into his arms. Later, Emily tells Dylan that Jesse chose to act for him. Dylan says he tried to exchange places with her but does not understand how the earlier exchange happened; the sequence establishes her intervention and its outcome without explaining its mechanism.

The barrier’s collapse and Dylan’s new independence
On a bench beside Zoe, Dylan learns that The Hedron is dead and the dimensional barrier has begun to break down. They have no timetable for the process to finish. Their conversation identifies one of them as an FBC contractor. Dylan’s birth certificate has been reissued, making him officially alive again.
When Zoe asks about his future, Dylan’s selected response is to ask for help figuring it out. He is 34, with no credit history, résumé, or education beyond fifth grade. She returns the belongings he had when the FBC brought him in, including his CD player with fresh batteries and his favorite CD still inside. Dylan puts on headphones, starts the music, and the closing credits begin.
Watch Darling’s recording in the post-credits epilogue
After the credits, gameplay resumes in Dylan’s apartment. Zoe asks about a recording he collected the night before; he has not watched it, and she tells him watching it is optional. Dylan can choose whether to play Darling’s recording.
Darling’s recording, “All I Had”, discusses Dylan.
Ending the final chapter and beginning New Directive
Zoe asks whether Dylan is visiting Jesse that day. A Final Chapter notification appears, and Dylan reaches Central Executive in the Oldest House. There, the epilogue quest The Beginning displays its objective, Visit Jesse in the Oldest House, as he approaches an enclosed medical unit.

Emily Pope is beside Jesse’s bed. Jesse remains in a coma and looks unchanged, though Emily says she has occasional, unexpected spikes in brain activity. Dylan discusses Jesse’s condition and those spikes with Emily; their meaning is unknown. Dylan promises to do whatever it takes to bring his sister back. He says he tried to switch places with her, cannot explain how it happened before, and insists they will find a way to wake her. The Beginning then completes and grants a reward.
Remaining with Jesse, Emily remembers the time they previously spent together at the bureau.

The Board subsequently contacts Dylan and grants a talent point. The objective tracker displays A New Directive: Furnish the Containment Unit. Dylan addresses the monolith about Jesse, then returns to her bedside with encouragement. He speaks words of love and encouragement and promises he will not give up on her. The Board has another directive; Dylan has a promise to keep.
Control Resonant ending explained
The ending leaves Dylan alive and gives him a new purpose after the Hedron confrontation.
The main story moves from Dylan’s fight against The Hedron to his attempt to help Jesse. Rather than presenting Jesse’s situation as completely resolved, the epilogue establishes that she remains in a coma while showing signs of brain activity.
Dylan therefore finishes the story with a clear goal: find a way to wake Jesse.
The sequence also marks a major change for Dylan. After spending years separated from normal life, he is now outside the immediate control of the Bureau and has to determine what comes next.
