What to know

  • Anthropic launched Integrations, allowing Claude to connect with remote MCP servers across web and desktop apps.
  • Users can now connect Claude to 10 popular services including Atlassian's Jira, Zapier, PayPal, and more.
  • Claude's research capabilities have been expanded, now able to search for up to 45 minutes before delivering comprehensive reports.

Anthropic has introduced a major update to its AI assistant Claude, launching a new feature called Integrations that allows users to connect Claude directly with their favorite work tools and apps.

The new Integrations feature builds on Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP), which was launched in November 2024. Until now, MCP support was limited to Claude Desktop through local servers, but the new update expands this capability to remote MCP servers across web and desktop applications.

At launch, users can choose from Integrations for 10 popular services: Atlassian's Jira and Confluence, Zapier, Cloudflare, Intercom, Asana, Square, Sentry, PayPal, Linear, and Plaid. Anthropic has announced that more integrations will follow soon from companies like Stripe and GitLab.

When connected to these tools, Claude gains deeper context about your work, understanding project histories, task statuses, and organizational knowledge. This allows the AI to become a more informed collaborator, helping you execute complex projects with assistance at every step.

For example, with Zapier integration, Claude can access thousands of apps through pre-built workflows, automating processes across your software stack. The AI can pull sales data from HubSpot and prepare meeting briefs based on your calendar through simple conversation.

Alongside Integrations, Anthropic has also expanded Claude's research capabilities with an advanced mode that can search the web, Google Workspace, and now the user's Integrations. This advanced research mode allows Claude to conduct research for up to 45 minutes before delivering a comprehensive report with citations.

Cloudflare is playing a key role in enabling these integrations, offering what it calls "the first and only simple toolkit to quickly, securely, and remotely connect leading SaaS services to Anthropic's Claude." Companies including Asana, Atlassian, Block, PayPal, Sentry, and Stripe are working with Cloudflare to create these AI experiences through connections built on Cloudflare Workers.

The new features are available in beta for subscribers to Anthropic's Claude Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, with availability for Pro plan subscribers coming soon. The web search feature is now available globally for all Claude users on paid plans.

Anthropic is also increasing rate limits for its AI-powered coding tool, Claude Code, for users who subscribe to its $200-per-month Max Plan.

These updates come as Anthropic works to keep pace with competing AI chatbots like Google's Gemini and OpenAI's ChatGPT. According to reports, Anthropic hopes to reach $34.5 billion in revenue by 2027, though its annualized revenue was around $1.4 billion as of early March 2025.
