World Tree is the top fishing destination because it combines the highest difficulty with the highest-value reward pool. Its Grand Master fishing spots are harder to complete, but they are where the best schematic, relic, gem, and ancient-material returns start showing up in serious volume.

This is the place to farm when your setup can handle repeated high-tier casts. The strongest results include radiant gems, World Tree ancient relics, high-end manuals, rare schematics, Ancient Civilization Parts, Ancient Spheres, Gold Keys, and Ancient Pal Manuscripts. Specific legendary schematic drops such as a Drone Launcher or Shotgun can happen here, but treat those as chance-based results from repeat farming, not fixed-location guarantees.

The main tradeoff is consistency. World Tree asks more from your rod, bait, Pals, and minigame execution, so it shines once you can chain casts instead of scraping through one pool and leaving.

Sunreach is the best pre-World Tree farm

Sunreach is the strongest practical late-game fishing area before you are ready to farm the World Tree comfortably. It has expert and high-tier pools, lots of shiny or sparkling catches, and enough reward variety to make repeated visits worthwhile while you are still building toward the true endgame loop.

The area is especially good for training manuals, schematics, strong 1.0 weapon schematic potential, and catches with valuable traits. It is also a useful place to collect Solarite, which makes the trip valuable even when you are not landing the exact schematic or Pal you wanted.

To reach it, go through the portal in the southern part of Feybreak. Once you arrive in Sunreach, farm its expert and high-tier pools before rotating back through your broader late-game route.

Shiny-heavy fishing spots for rare Pals and traits

Some fishing spots are worth visiting because they lean into shiny or sparkling catches instead of pure material farming. These are the pools to check when you want valuable Pals, stronger trait rolls, and special catches alongside the usual rewards.

Sparkling effects are the quick visual clue. Purple points toward Alpha catches, green points toward better passives, and stacked effects can lead to especially desirable trait outcomes. Cave pools can also be worth checking when you are already nearby, though the stronger shiny or rare-pool behavior there is experience-based rather than a rule to build the whole route around.

Progression and mid-game fishing locations

Feybreak is the easiest recommendation for progression because it gives you many advanced pools and a few expert pools without pushing you straight into the harshest late-game areas. It is also tied into the route toward Sunreach, so it naturally fits into your upgrade path.

Sandstone Gate Island is the standout surprise. Its expert pool has strong drops and good trait potential, with advanced pools nearby, making it a compact stop when you are passing through. The oil rig spots are more dangerous but worthwhile: the Platform Oil Rig has multiple fishing spots around and under the structure, while the east-side oil rig has two expert spots on climbable platforms.

Fishing setup to bring for high-tier pools

Bring an advanced fishing rod for serious farming, with the Depresso rod preferred if you already have it. It is not mandatory for every spot, but it makes the high-end loop much smoother.

For bait and support, bring Alluring Bait, Gloopie, Velaska, Jolthog, and either Sweepa or Sweepa Lux. That setup is aimed at making difficult pools more manageable and increasing the value of repeated fishing runs.

How to spot fishing pools worth casting into

You cannot fish productively in empty water. Cast only where you can see fish shadows or debris, then aim the rod directly at the target shadow so the cast lands on the catch you actually want.
