After obtaining the Blue Key, the next major key item you’ll encounter in Beast of Reincarnation is the Red Key. Unlike optional collectibles, this key is directly tied to the main campaign and is required to continue Chapter 1. If you’ve reached a locked red door and aren’t sure where the key is, here’s everything you need to know.

Where to find the Red Key in Beast of Reincarnation

You don’t need to solve a puzzle or search hidden corners of the map to obtain the Red Key. During the Ogouchi Buffer Zone storyline, you’ll eventually reach the Nushi’s Lair: Gate Approach campsite. As you approach the massive sealed gate, the Gatekeeper automatically gives Emma the Red Key, along with clues about locating the remaining Blue and Yellow Keys needed to unlock the lair.

Because this is part of the main quest, every player receives the key naturally through story progression.

How to get the Red Key in Beast of Reincarnation

Travel to the west side of the Ogouchi Buffer Zone toward the Quarry Interior Campsite. Take the main elevator down into the quarry depths.

Inside the large canvas tent where Keeper Golem #3 is located, defeat the local Heavy Golem elite. Collect the Red Key after completing conversation with the Golem.

What does the Red Key unlock?

The Red Key has two known uses in Beast of Reincarnation.

The first and most important use is unlocking one of the three locks on the Nushi’s Lair gate. You’ll eventually need the Red, Blue, and Yellow Keys before you can enter the lair and continue the story.

The second use is optional. The Red Key also unlocks a locked building in the Abandoned Village, where you’ll find a Strongbox containing additional loot. This makes it worthwhile to revisit earlier areas before opening the Nushi’s Lair if you’re aiming for full exploration.

Should you explore before opening the Nushi’s Lair?

Yes, if you’re interested in collecting everything the Ogouchi Buffer Zone has to offer.

Once you’ve gathered the Red, Blue, and Yellow Keys, you’ll be able to unlock the Nushi’s Lair and advance the story. However, several exploration guides recommend finishing collectibles, opening optional Strongboxes, and revisiting locked areas first, since progressing beyond this point moves the story forward.

Using the Red Key on the Abandoned Village door before entering the lair is an easy way to grab an extra Strongbox without backtracking later.

Can you miss the Red Key?

No. Since the Red Key is part of the main quest, it cannot be permanently missed. If you don’t have it yet, the solution is simply to continue completing the current story objectives rather than backtracking or searching every corner of the map.

If you’ve already reached the locked door without the key, double-check your quest log and finish any remaining objectives immediately before the Nushi’s Lair sequence.

What happens after using the Red Key?

Opening the Nushi’s Lair marks another major milestone in Chapter 1 and leads directly into the next story encounters. From this point onward, you’ll face tougher enemies and continue progressing through the game’s primary narrative.

The Red Key is one of Beast of Reincarnation’s essential progression items. While it isn’t hidden or difficult to obtain, knowing that it’s awarded automatically during Chapter 1 can save you from unnecessary exploration. Simply follow the main story, obtain the key, unlock the Nushi’s Lair entrance, and continue your journey.
