Two of the United States’ leading telecom companies, T-Mobile and AT&T, have released updates for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Apart from bringing the September security patch, the updates also bring the highly-anticipated Night mode for the camera.
Both AT&T and T-Mobile haven’t been the fastest when it comes to software updates, and it’s has taken them an awful lot of time to release the Night mode. Samsung’s Night mode isn’t as polished as Google’s Night Sight, but it still is one of the best night camera modes out there.
Despite being separate updates, of course, the packages are nearly identical, as they both bundle in the September 2019 security patch and the Night mode for the camera. We don’t, yet, have the software version for the AT&T update, but know that the T-Mobile package carries version G960USQU6CSI2 and G965USQU6CSI2 for the S9 and S9 Plus respectively.
Samsung has already confirmed the Android 10-based One UI 2 beta for the Galaxy S10 family and could start rolling out in the coming weeks. As we know, the S9 duo has slipped down the pecking order, meaning that users would have to wait a bit longer to have a taste of Android 10.
