AT&T updates Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge (Wi-Fi calling), and also Note 4, Note Edge, S5 and S5 Active

In last two days, AT&T has release updates for as many as six of its Samsung devices. The Galaxy S6 sets aren’t part of it, but both devices at the either side of the hierarchy are: the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S5, that is, and also on the list are Note 4 and Note Edge.

While it’s just a small matter of ‘Device security improvements’ for the Galaxy S5, S5 Active, Note 4 and Note Edge — monthly security patches, just that — the feature-adding update is for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, both of which get Wi-Fi calling today.

The S7 and S7 Edge also get IPME and AMBS Phase 3. Of the two, the former stands for IP Messaging. As for the latter, you go figure please is all we can say.

The build no. of the update are:

  • Galaxy S7 — G930AUCU2APG1 (597 MB from PE1 | 548 MB from PF2)
  • Galaxy S7 Edge — G935AUCU2APG1 (579 MB from PE1 | 555 MB from PF2)
