AT&T Galaxy S5 OTA update rolling out with performance improvements and January patch, build G900AUCU4DQA1

AT&T has been delivering updates to a lot of Samsung smartphones in the last few days. Today, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is getting a new software update. This update installs the latest Android security patch and also provides some performance improvements.

The Galaxy S5 is more than 2 years old now, and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The build number for this new update is G900AUCU4DQA1 and it installs the January security patch. The update is available as an OTA and weighs 192MB.

We’re not sure what exactly the mentioned performance improvements are, but its nice to know that this is more than just a security update. AT&T recently delivered security updates for the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S5 Active.

As this is an OTA update, users will receive the update notification once it’s available. As of now, it is rolling out, so you may get the update anytime. Make sure your smartphone is sufficiently charged and connected to a WiFi network.
