The AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is getting a new software update at the moment. The update is being seeded over-the-air with several bug fixes and improvements.
If you’ve got a Galaxy Note 8 that you purchased from AT&T, then you should soon be seeing this update on your device. We recommend that you install it right away as it fixes some very important security bugs.
The firmware build version is N950USQU2BQJA and the OTA weighs around 377 to 386MB. For starters, the update includes fix for the BlueBorne and the KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerabilities. The update also installs the October Android security patch. Although that’s not the latest, it still improves the security of your Note 8.

Finally, the network performance and system stability will be improved with this update. It is still based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, not Oreo. For those who haven’t received the update, you may have to wait a few days. Meanwhile, you can check for the update by heading to Settings > About > Software Update.
Samsung still hasn’t released the Android 8.0 Oreo for any of its devices. The Galaxy Beta Program did release two betas so far, but that’s about it. The Note 8 isn’t part of the beta program, and will likely see Oreo either next month or early January.
