Asus started rolling out a limited Android 9 Pie update to the ZenFone 5Z towards the end of December 2018 and now attention has turned to the rest of the 5Z family.
The Taiwanese company has an update with software version 90.10.138.175 and with it, ZenFone 5Z users will finally be able to enjoy Pie. Asus had promised that an update to Pie will be ready this month and indeed, it has delivered.
Besides Pie, the update also improves the security patch level of the ZenFone 5Z to the latest version available, December 2018, but being an OTA update, it will take some time before all units get the download notification.
The rollout has just commenced across the globe as seen in the screenshots above from some of our readers, so it shouldn’t be long before yours gets it, just in case it hasn’t. In order to get the over-the-air update, you need to have at least version 80.30.96.221 installed.
If waiting is a problem, we also have the download file below for manual installation, but be sure you know what needs to be done, otherwise, consult this guide or simply sit back and wait for the OTA download to arrive in the next few days.

i got this update yesterday. so far everything has been fine, except for the phone no longer tracks steps with Asus Zenfit. I tried reinstalling the app and checking that it had all permissions, including body sensors, but no luck.
