The Asus Zenfone 3 Max is receiving a new software update with the latest Android security patch. As usual, the update is available for users via OTA.

The update brings several new improvements and the all-new ZenUI 4.0. No, it’s not the Android 8.0 Oreo update, it’s just a lighter, cleaner, and smarter ZenUI skin on top of Nougat. The software version number is V14.0200.1712.347. It also installs the December Android security patch on the device.

Zenfone 3 Oreo update leaks out

The new ZenUI 4.0 is close to stock, but with a few Asus apps. It is still much better than the previous ZenUI versions. According to Asus, instead of 35 pre-installed apps, the new ZenUI has only 13 apps and includes features such as a smarter AI gallery, page maker, Twin apps, and more.

Once again, this update is for the Asus ZenFone 3 Max (ZC553KL), so do not install it on any other device. In September this year, the company rolled out a similar update to the Zenfone 3 Zoom. The Asus Zenfone 4 is set to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update this month.
