QUICK ANSWER
Update 14.5 in Anime Vanguards has ten Demon Familiars – Snowcone, Fairy, Flower, Lost Girl, Winged Being, Samurai, Harpist, Tempting Devil, Trenchcoat, and Chosen Savior – and Demon Fusion lets you combine demons in Dyad Fusion to create secret familiars and inherit selected attacks/passives up to the result’s slot limit.

The new demons are built for Persona units, but the useful part is not only the familiar’s default kit. Demon Fusion lets you treat attacks and passives as pieces you can carry forward, so the best familiar is usually the one that matches your unit and holds the strongest inherited passives.

Demon Familiar roster and recipes

Demon Familiar Attack, passive, slots, recipe
Snowcone Freeze; Frost Familiar; 1 attack slot, 1 passive slot; non-secret fusion input
Fairy Wind Gust; Wind Familiar; 1 attack slot, 1 passive slot; non-secret fusion input
Flower No named attack; Nature Familiar; 1 attack slot, 1 passive slot; Flower + Samurai creates Trenchcoat
Lost Girl Death Knull; Death Touch; 2 attack slots, 2 passive slots; Winged Being + Lost Girl creates Tempting Devil
Winged Being Holy Rain; Holy Penetration; 2 attack slots, 2 passive slots; Winged Being + Lost Girl creates Tempting Devil
Samurai 9 Fold Strike; Preemptive Slash; 2 attack slots, 2 passive slots; Flower + Samurai creates Trenchcoat
Harpist Agidyne; Awakening; 3 attack slots, 3 passive slots; any no-recipe pair creates Harpist
Tempting Devil Devil Chains; Ghastly Thief; 3 attack slots, 3 passive slots; Winged Being + Lost Girl
Trenchcoat Cross Slash; Thunderous Attacker; 3 attack slots, 3 passive slots; Flower + Samurai
Chosen Savior Dawn Star; Omnipotence; 4 attack slots, 4 passive slots; Trenchcoat + Tempting Devil

The roster splits into lower-slot demons, mid-slot demons, and secret familiars made through Demon Fusion. The secret tier starts at Harpist, while Chosen Savior is the largest-slot result.

Demon Fusion recipe rules in Dyad Fusion

Input demons Fusion result
Any two demons without a specific recipe Harpist
Winged Being + Lost Girl Tempting Devil
Flower + Samurai Trenchcoat
Trenchcoat + Tempting Devil Chosen Savior

Dyad Fusion uses two demons: a base demon and a material demon. If that pair has a recipe, the menu creates the recipe result; if the pair has no recipe, the result becomes Harpist.

Key After the fusion starts, you choose from the available inherited attacks and passives. The output familiar’s slot count is the limit, so a 3 attack slot / 3 passive slot familiar can carry three of each, while Chosen Savior can carry four of each.

This is what makes fusion stronger than simply equipping the newest demon. You can create the familiar shell your unit wants, then carry over a passive such as Death Touch, Preemptive Slash, or Thunderous Attacker if the slot limit allows it.

QUICK WIN

Build around the unit’s preferred Demon Familiar first, then use Dyad Fusion and Harpist transfers to carry over the passives you actually want.

Snowcone freeze setup

Snowcone is the simple control familiar. Its Freeze attack pairs with Frost Familiar, which makes attacks freeze enemies for 2 seconds.

With only 1 attack slot and 1 passive slot, Snowcone is narrow by design. Use it when the freeze effect is the point, not when you need a multi-passive fusion shell.

Fairy damage setup

Fairy uses the Wind Gust attack and the Wind Familiar passive. Wind Familiar gives the unit a straight 50% damage increase.

Fairy also has 1 attack slot and 1 passive slot. That makes it a basic damage familiar rather than a deep fusion target.

Flower status immunity setup

Flower has no named attack in its own kit. Its value is Nature Familiar, which makes the unit immune to status effects and status debuffs.

Flower has 1 attack slot and 1 passive slot, but it matters more as a recipe piece. Pairing Flower with Samurai creates Trenchcoat.

Lost Girl Corruption setup

Lost Girl brings the Death Knull attack and the Death Touch passive. Death Touch makes attacks apply Corruption, then the unit deals 50% more damage when attacking an enemy already affected by Corruption.

It has 2 attack slots and 2 passive slots, giving it more room than the one-slot demons. Lost Girl is also one half of the Tempting Devil recipe with Winged Being.

Winged Being resistance bypass setup

Winged Being uses Holy Rain and Holy Penetration. Holy Penetration makes attacks bypass enemy damage resistance.

The passive also makes ability damage pop built-up Corruption on an enemy for 150% of the built value. With 2 attack slots and 2 passive slots, Winged Being is a natural partner for Lost Girl-style Corruption setups.

Samurai crit setup

Samurai has 9 Fold Strike and Preemptive Slash. Preemptive Slash gives 40% Crit Rate and Overcrit.

Any time the unit crits, Preemptive Slash buffs itself by 50% damage for 20 seconds. Samurai has 2 attack slots and 2 passive slots, and its passive is one of the cleanest damage pieces to transfer forward.

Harpist passive bridge setup

Harpist is a secret fusion familiar made by combining any two demons that do not have a specific recipe. Its attack is Agidyne, and its passive is Awakening.

Awakening buffs the unit and allies by 40% damage and 10% range whenever the unit attacks. Harpist also deals 100% more damage to enemies with overshield, and that damage increase stays even after the overshield is removed.

Because Harpist has 3 attack slots and 3 passive slots, it works as a transfer bridge. You can use it to carry a passive from one demon line into another familiar shell.

Tempting Devil Wounded setup

Tempting Devil is made by fusing Winged Being with Lost Girl. Its attack is Devil Chains, and its passive is Ghastly Thief.

Ghastly Thief makes attacks inflict Wounded. When the unit attacks an enemy with a debuff, it buffs itself by 3% damage per debuff, then that damage buff resets after the next attack.

Tempting Devil has 3 attack slots and 3 passive slots. Devil Chains also comes with a 4-second self-stun, so treat the attack as a strong tool with a real timing drawback.

Trenchcoat stun setup

Trenchcoat is made by fusing Flower with Samurai. Its attack is Cross Slash, and its passive is Thunderous Attacker.

Thunderous Attacker makes attacks inflict Stun for 2 seconds. Whenever the unit does a base attack, it follows up with Cross Slash for 50% damage.

Trenchcoat has 3 attack slots and 3 passive slots, which is enough room for a strong inherited package. That is why it works well as a final shell for units that specifically want Trenchcoat equipped.

Chosen Savior Time Stop setup

Chosen Savior is made by fusing Trenchcoat with Tempting Devil. Its attack is Dawn Star, and its passive is Omnipotence.

Omnipotence buffs the unit by 40% damage for 30 seconds when it uses an ability. When the unit crits, it inflicts Time Stop on all enemies in range for 2 seconds, then deals 40% more damage to enemies on Time Stop lockout.

Dawn Star also removes status effects and debuffs from all allies in range. With 4 attack slots and 4 passive slots, Chosen Savior has the most room for inherited attacks and passives.

Familiar matching for Persona units

Chosen Savior has the largest slot count, but that does not make it the automatic choice for every Persona unit. Some units gain extra bonuses from a specific Demon Familiar, so the shell should come from the unit’s own bonus first, then fusion can supply the inherited passives.

Investigation Leader (Truth) is the clearest case. With Trenchcoat equipped, he buffs his own damage by 100% and gives 50% crit damage to all Demon Control allies, making Trenchcoat the correct target even though Chosen Savior has more slots.

Joker with Tempting Devil and Makoto Yuki with Chosen Savior are useful named examples for the same matching idea. Before treating either as the formal label on your account, match the familiar to the exact unit name shown in your roster, then use Demon Fusion to move stronger passives onto that familiar.
