QUICK ANSWER
Gohan is a top meta DPS pick in Anime Expeditions, but he is not the raw-DPS leader: Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) has the highest raw DPS number at 475, while Shadow (Divine) remains the stronger practical DPS benchmark for many teams.

Secret Gohan is worth chasing immediately. His questline is long, his kit rewards status-heavy teams, and his evolved form spikes damage through transformations, AoE follow-up hits, DOT refreshes, and a manual beam ability.

Gohan’s DPS verdict in Anime Expeditions

Unit Current DPS read
Gohan New Secret unit with huge burst potential, status scaling, transformations, and a strong active ability.
Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) Highest raw DPS number currently listed at 475.
Shadow (Divine) Strongest practical DPS benchmark because of long-fight value and overall map impact.

Gohan sits in the high-end DPS tier. His showcase numbers are absurd with the right setup, but the current raw stat race belongs to Cursed Immortal (Black Sun), and real-run performance keeps Shadow (Divine) ahead for many teams because of uptime, scaling, summons, and coverage.

KEY!

Gohan is meta, but he is not the DPS king: Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) owns the raw number, and Shadow (Divine) still sets the practical benchmark in serious content.

Video help

Fastest Mechanical Scrap farm

The quickest Scrap method is to restart for better Expedition map rolls instead of accepting every low-value run. Enter East Town difficulty 3, start the Expedition map, check how much Mechanical Scrap the run offers, and restart if the number is too low.

Good rolls include numbers like 49 and 36, while low rolls can land near 13. Drop amounts vary, so use this as a repeat-farm route: restart low Scrap maps, then fully clear the run once the map gives a high Scrap amount.

QUICK WIN

Restart difficulty 3 East Town Expeditions until the map shows a high Mechanical Scrap roll, then commit to that run instead of grinding low-scrap seeds.

Gohan evolution, equipment, and trait direction

Gohan’s evolution flow uses the Rage Catalyst, which comes through his questline, and the evolution screen also asks for red sprites. If the item is hard to spot in the menu, switch to the full item list and scroll until the Prodigy entry appears.

For equipment, craft Mentor Cape and roll its stats with Gohan’s role in mind. Damage is the priority roll, range is valuable because so much of his kit works inside his attack radius, and a strong SPA roll helps his regular-attack passives cycle faster.

Unbound is the best early trait direction for Gohan, especially if you are building him as a centerpiece DPS. Use it when you want Gohan carrying the main damage role instead of acting as a secondary status-scaling unit.

Gohan kit and damage spikes

Passive or ability Effect
Hidden Potential At upgrade 3, transforms into Prodigy Transformation; every three attacks deals 50% of his damage to all enemies in range.
Unyielding Spirit Regular attacks deal 10% increased damage per stack of each status effect on the target.
DOT refresh If the status effect is a DOT, Gohan refreshes it and changes the source to himself once per DOT type per enemy.
Rage Unleashed Starts a Prodigy meter at 0; regular attacks add 5, and enemies leaving his range add 1.
Prodigy Transformation 2 At 100 meter, Gohan transforms, gains 25% damage, and every three attacks deals 75% damage to all enemies in range.
Father and Son Spirit Energy Fires at a selected point in range for 10 seconds, dealing 75% of his damage every 1 second; Gohan stops attacking during the ability.

Gohan costs 1,150 to place and has a three-placement limit. His early upgrades push him into Prodigy Transformation, and later upgrades unlock Rage Unleashed, which gives him a Prodigy meter and eventually pushes him into Prodigy Transformation 2.

His DPS climbs hard because his regular attacks are not just regular attacks. Every third attack adds bonus AoE damage inside his range, and status-effect enemies take extra damage per stack. That makes him scale far better in teams that can keep debuffs or DOTs applied.

The DOT source-change interaction makes Gohan especially strong with damage-over-time setups. Build around it by keeping enemies covered in status effects before his regular attacks and three-hit AoE triggers land.

Best teams for Gohan

Gohan fits best in teams that already apply status effects or DOTs. Itachi is an obvious partner because he helps feed the status-scaling part of Gohan’s kit, while other status appliers can also raise Gohan’s damage without needing to change his own upgrade path.

Gohan is a meta DPS because he turns status stacks, range control, and active timing into huge damage spikes. If your team can stack statuses, keep enemies inside his range, and time Father and Son Spirit Energy on heavy waves or boss phases, he gives you the kind of scaling that stays useful well beyond the unlock grind.
