Update (Nov 10): Xiaomi have already put the Android Pie update on halt. It seems the update ran into some crucial issues that remain unknown yet, but we shall expect a newer fixed build based on Android 9 in near future.
Xiaomi has released the Android Pie update for its Mi A2 Android One phone. The update arrives as version 10, with full version being 10.0.1, and is an upgrade over the Android 8.1 based version 9 builds 9.6.16 and 9.6.17.
Being an Android One device, the Pie update was always expected to arrive on the Mi A2 sooner than later. Given Samsung, LG and Motorola and few others are yet to release Pie update for any of their devices, the release timing of the Mi A2 Pie update doesn’t look bad at all.
On the other hand, if you look at OnePlus, who have long back released Android Pie for the OnePlus 6, you may not feel impressed by the released timing of OS updates under the Android One program. Not only OnePlus, but even Xiaomi has also already released Android Pie update for some of its devices that come with MIUI.

Technically, because Android One devices do not feature a custom skin from an OEM, they should receive faster updates than the device featuring a tweaked version of Android. But that doesn’t seem to be resulting in faster OS updates to Android One handsets right now.
With the rollout of Android Pie, the Mi A2 users will get features like Digital wellbeing, Adaptive battery, Adaptive brightness, Gesture support, App actions, app slices, feature flags, etc. features.
