Android Oreo update for the Huawei Honor 8 has been kind of a mixed bag. Some reports had initially claimed the device won’t receive an update to Oreo, but back in May 2018, Honor started a beta testing program in China which later culminated to a stable rollout several weeks later.
This rollout, however, did not make it to India, where the Honor 8 was quite a hit following its launch back in 2016. On the brighter side, users of the handset in the Asian subcontinent can now download and install an EMUI update that bumps the software version to 8.0.0.513 and weighs a whopping 2.35GB.

This is an OTA update, which means it will take some time before all Honor 8 units in India get the download notification, so be patient. You may try forcing the update via the software menu in the settings app, but we cannot guarantee the update will be readily available for download.
