Android Oreo now rolling out to Huawei P9, Mate 8, Honor 8, Honor Note 8, Honor V8, and Honor Play 6X

Back in May, Huawei began testing EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo on several handsets in China and it appears the Chinese tech giant is impressed with the feedback. The result of which is the stable Android Oreo is now rolling out to the devices in question as OTA updates.

The company has confirmed that EMUI 8.0 is ready to download for users of the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus, Huawei Honor 8, Huawei Mate 8, Honor Note 8, Honor V8 and Honor Play 6X. In particular, users of the Honor 8 will be glad to hear this news as the device has been the subject of several uncertainties regarding Oreo updates.

It’s worth noting that the EMUI 8.0 update will be rolling out in phases. Huawei says the updates will be available daily for each device from 10 am, beginning July 9 to July 15. Interestingly, only 5000 units of each handset will receive the Oreo update per day during the said period.

To access the latest Android Oreo on any of the mentioned devices, you’ll have to enlist services of the member service app, which has the upgrade page. Once the application is confirmed, you should find the new update in the system update section of your device.
