Android Oreo now available for ZenFone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL

Asus has been quite busy with Android Oreo updates since the turn of the year. The Taiwanese company has already updated a myriad of handsets in the ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 3 series, but the latter’s flagship offering, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, had yet to see the Oreo dessert.

Back in March, Asus revealed that the ZenFone 3 Deluxe would receive Android Oreo before the end of the same month, but it didn’t materialize. The wait has taken users of the phone into mid-May, but as it’s often said, better late than never.

Asus has made this news public through its official ZenTalk forums, confirming that Android Oreo is rolling out to both variants of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe (Snapdragon 820 and 821). The update installs software version 15.0210.1804.47 and besides Oreo, it also removes several apps: MiniMovie, Photo Collage, Do It later, TripAdivisor, Puffin Browser, and Kindle. The new software also updates the privacy setting, enables VoWiFi and turns off ZenMotion by default.

Like any other OTA update, ZenFone 3 Deluxe users will have to be a little patient before all units get the go-ahead to download the new OS. Of course, you can always force the update by heading to Settings > System > System updates and download it manually.
