The Android 9 Pie if now official — see the release date for your device here — but without much of a surprise, Samsung is still rolling out Oreo update for its device eligible for it. Which brings us to the Galaxy C7 and Galaxy C5 Pro, Samsung’s supposed answer to the OnePlus handsets that failed miserably.
If you are rocking the Galaxy C7, or the Galaxy C5 Pro, you would be glad to know that the Oreo update is now available for these devices, or at least one particular model of each one of them: SM-C7000 in the case of C7, while SM-C5018 as regards the Galaxy C5 Pro ( both are sold primarily in China). FYI, model no. SM-C5010 of the C5 Pro has already received Oreo (on Aug 05).
The Android 8.0 OTA is already rolling out, and for the Galaxy C7 handsets, it’s coming in as software version C7000ZCU3CRH3 while for the Galaxy C5 Pro, it’s C5018ZMU1CRH2. The Oreo update for the C7 also packs in August security patch, while the C5 Pro is surprisingly still holding on to June patch.

Samsung apparently isn’t keen on refreshing the Galaxy C7 series anymore, as they are concentrating more on the Galaxy A series nowadays, but you can check out the best Samsung phones you can buy here.
