Galaxy Tab A 2016

A few weeks ago, Samsung started rolling out an update to Android 8.1 Oreo for the S Pen variant of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 in South America and as it is, a similar update has been spotted in Europe.

The new update is rolling out with software version P587JXU1CRJ7 and so far, it seems to be available in Turkey. Still, the fact that the update is now available in the European nation means that other markets in the same region will be joining in the party sooner than later.

Besides installing Oreo 8.1, the CRJ7 update also brings a new Android security patch for the month of November 2018, which is quite interesting to see coming from Samsung. However, since the update is airborne, it may take several days before all Tab A 2016 units get the download notification, so be patient.

As for if and when Samsung will release Android 9 Pie update for the Tab A 2016, we have more details covered below.
