Best Ways to Farm Ancient Civilization Cores in Palworld 1.0

Ancient Civilization Cores are no longer a single-method farm once you are pushing late-game Palworld. Before the World Tree, your goal is to keep passive core chances running while you actively build slabs, summon raids, and hit Oil Rig reward chests when your gear can handle it. After the World Tree opens, the farm shifts hard toward Ancient Relics and the Ancient Relic Recycler.

Unlock the Pal Expedition Station

Open the technology tree at level 22 and unlock the Pal Expedition Station.

Choose a core-dropping Expedition

Select Astral Fallen Cavern or a lower entry in the Expedition list to start earning Ancient Civilization Cores.

Push Tower boss progress

Beat Tower bosses to open stronger Expedition options, starting with Tower of Pal Genetic Research Unit, then Moonflower, Sacred, and Sand Reach.

Raid bosses turn slab fragments into active core farms

The raid route starts with slab fragments. Expeditions can bring them back passively, and high-level dungeons can add more when you are actively farming; Sacred, Astral, and Sakurajima dungeons are the areas to check.

Once you have enough pieces, craft the slab and use it at the Summoning Altar. Farm the strongest raid boss your base, Pals, weapons, and party can clear reliably, because failed attempts erase the value of chasing a harder target.

Oil Rig gigantic chests are high-risk active farms

The gigantic chest is the Oil Rig target for Ancient Civilization Cores. The level 55 Oil Rig is the better first stop because its gigantic chest has roughly a little-over-even core chance, while the level 60 Oil Rig sits slightly below that range; treat those as approximate farm expectations rather than fixed chest rules.

Do not judge the run by an already-cleared platform. At-level Oil Rig farming is dangerous, enemy-dense content, and this route is about reaching the reward chest, not replacing a full combat plan for clearing the rig.

Once you reach the World Tree, the farm changes. Go to dense enemy areas, with Gilded City Ruins Watchtower standing out because nearby groups make it easy to loop kills and collect Ancient Relics.

Run up and down the stairs and nearby paths, clearing enemy clusters instead of chasing isolated targets. Rare relic piles with a worm around them are especially valuable when they appear, and capturing the Pal there lets you claim the drops while adding the Pal to your collection.

Back at base, put Ancient Relics in the top slot of the Ancient Relic Recycler and World Tree Holy Water in the lower slot. Turn the machine power on, assign a Pal with Handiwork, collect the output when processing finishes, then turn the power on again for the next batch.

World Tree sources worth checking while relic farming

World Tree enemy loops should be your main relic route, but nearby objects are worth checking as you move. Treasure chests in the area can contain Ancient Relics, and fishing in the World Tree can also produce relics.

Rubble piles are even better when you spot them because they can give Ancient Civilization Cores directly. Alpha and boss Pals seem to drop more relics than regular enemies, but they are better treated as bonus targets when they are already near your route.

Maximum cores per hour farming loop

Before the World Tree, set your best core-dropping Pal Expedition before you leave base. Clear high-level dungeons for slab fragments, craft slabs when you have enough pieces, and summon the strongest raid boss you can defeat consistently.

Another slowdown is staying on low-tier Expeditions after stronger ones unlock. The same applies to raids: farm what you can clear reliably, but move up when your setup supports it.
