All Heavy Burden Skull Locations in Halo: Campaign Evolved

Heavy Burden places its skulls along the mission route, but each one asks you to check a side path, vertical route, or timing window before moving on. Use the table first if you only need the landmark, then follow the route sections for the exact approach.

Heavy Burden skulls in encounter order

KEY!There are three skulls total in Heavy Burden, and the cleanest run is to grab them in the order above as you naturally reach each area.

Eye Patch skull on the upper walkway

Reach the walkway with the two Elites

When you arrive at the area where the main path runs across the middle level, look for two Elites on the upper level.

Continue forward through the door

Instead of turning back, continue forward through the nearby door that leads onto the upper walkway.

Follow the upper walkway to the end

Keep moving along the walkway while the fight continues below, then pick up Skull at the far end.

Return to the main route

Walk back around the same way and continue across the mission path.

Grunt Birthday Party skull on the central spire

Look for the large white-and-gold atrium with several levels, enemies spread around the room, and purple flame fixtures. The skull sits high on the central decorative spire, so the right angle matters more than raw jump distance.

Find the gold multi-level room

Enter the large atrium with multiple levels, purple flame fixtures, and enemies around the central space.

Move toward the Grunts

Head to the side where the Grunts are gathered, clearing nearby enemies so the jump setup is not interrupted.

Use the purple flame boost

Jump onto the purple fire fixture from that side, then jump across toward the central spire.

Climb onto the spire

Make the final jump up and grab Grunt Birthday Party from the top.

Efficient skull on the moving platform

The third skull is the tight one. It comes during the moving platform section after you enable the power and the platform starts traveling again through an enemy-heavy area.

Restart the platform after enabling power

Progress until the moving platform starts again after the power is enabled.

Deal with the Brutes

Clear or closely watch the Brutes on the side, because they can jump onto the raft and ruin the timing.

Use the bridge as your marker

Stay on the platform until it passes under the bridge; that is the cue to prepare for the skull jump.

Jump out to the back-right corner of the left-hand platform

As soon as the platform clears the bridge, jump toward the back-right corner of the left-hand platform where the skull is sitting out of bounds.

Grab skull and return fast

Pick up Skull, then sprint and jump back before the out-of-bounds countdown runs out.

Retry from checkpoint if needed

The timing is tight enough that missing the return may cost the attempt, so save before trying if the game gives you the chance.

The moving-platform pickup is labeled here as Efficient based on Heavy Burden’s three-skull list; early route coverage for this exact placement has been uneven, but this is the third skull shown after Eye Patch and Grunt Birthday Party in the mission route.

Heavy Burden skull effects

After collecting a skull, its modifier becomes available for later use. Heavy Burden’s set mixes one aiming penalty, one cosmetic Grunt effect, and one ammo-focused combat modifier.

Heavy Burden Terminal note

Heavy Burden also has the Harmonious Clarity Terminal. Collecting all three skulls and that Terminal in the mission is tied to the Parting Gifts achievement or trophy.
