Location of Wiggling Hill Ruins Puzzle in Crimson Desert
The puzzle is located within the Wiggling Hill Ruins area of Byron Estate. The ruins contain several lanterns positioned around a small valley and a water-filled section. One lantern sits above the water, while another remains inaccessible until the flooding has been removed. The central mechanic revolves around activating a water-draining device using the Nature Snare skill.
How to solve the Wiggling Hill Ruins puzzle
Travel to the Wiggling Hill Ruins in Byron Estate and locate the lanterns scattered around the valley. Take a moment to identify their positions before beginning.
Light the 2 lanterns located on the southern side of the ruins. These are the first lanterns required for the puzzle sequence.
Light the lantern positioned across from the southern lanterns. Continue checking the area to ensure each visible lantern has been activated. Light the lantern suspended above the water. Once this lantern is active, you should have all currently accessible lanterns lit.
Equip or unlock the Nature Snare skill from the Spirit Tree if you have not already done so. This skill is mandatory for the puzzle and cannot be skipped.
Move to the water suction mechanism near the flooded section of the ruins. Enter Focus Mode using the default X key on PC. While in Focus Mode, activate Nature Snare using the appropriate skill input (right-click by default). Continue channeling the ability until the water level has been completely drained from the area.
Once the water disappears, proceed north toward the newly accessible section of the ruins. Locate the final lantern near the northern pillar and light it.
With every lantern now illuminated, the puzzle will complete automatically, clearing the Mysterious Energy challenge.

Why Nature’s Snare skill is required
Unlike many Mysterious Energy puzzles that focus purely on observation, Wiggling Hill Ruins is designed to teach players how environmental Spirit Tree abilities interact with ancient mechanisms. The water-draining device only responds to Nature Snare while in Focus Mode, making it one of the earliest puzzles that directly requires a specific Spirit Tree skill to progress.
The Wiggling Hill Ruins puzzle in Byron Estate is completed by lighting the southern lanterns, activating the lantern above the water, using Nature Snare to drain the flooded section, and finally lighting the northern lantern revealed after the water disappears. Once all lanterns are active, the Mysterious Energy puzzle is cleared and the reward can be collected.
