How to get a Feathered Weasel

Step 1: Travel to Echidna Cave in Pailune

Look for the highlighted “P” marker labeled “Echidna Cave.” This cave is where all known Feathered Weasel spawns are clustered, so this is the only spot you need to visit for the pet.

Step 2: Enter Echidna Cave and locate the weasels

Walk into Echidna Cave area and follow the slope down until you see roughly three Feathered Weasels darting around the chamber floor. They move quickly, so position yourself near the pack or near the back‑left corner of the lower chamber to increase your chances of catching one.

Step 3: Pick up and hold the Feathered Weasel

Once one is close enough, press the interact button to grab it (mark them individually so you don’t accidentally swing at all three at once). The game will lift the weasel into your hands; while held it will occasionally squirm away, so be ready to chase it outside if it drops.

Step 4: Feed it chicken / bird meat

With the Feathered Weasel in hand, open your inventory and select the chicken or bird meat you brought (or bought from a butcher). Use the feed action (typically a context button such as A/X or the in‑menu “Feed” option) to give it one piece; each piece raises trust by about 50 points.

Step 5: Reach 100 trust and claim it

Repeat the feed action until the Feathered Weasel’s trust bar reaches 100, which usually requires just 2 pieces of bird meat. Once trust is full, a prompt will appear on‑screen (often at the bottom‑right) with the “Take in” option; press that button to officially adopt it as your pet.

Step 6: Manage your pet‑slot limit

If the “Take in” option does not appear when the weasel is at 100 trust, you are likely already at the 30‑pet cap. In that case, open your Pet menu in the inventory and release one of your existing pets before trying to adopt the Feathered Weasel again.

Critical mistakes to avoid

  • Coming without bird meat: If you track down Echidna Cave but don’t carry chicken or proper bird meat, you’ll waste time backtracking; stock up at a butcher in Heidel or Calpheon first.

  • Ignoring the 30‑pet limit: The game will not warn you that you’re out of pet slots, so you might think the weasel is bugged when you can’t adopt it. Always check your Pets inventory tab if nothing happens at 100 trust.

  • Letting it escape too far: Once the weasel drops from your hands, it can run deep into the cave or out into the Pailune wilds; if that happens, reload a recent save or re‑enter the cave rather than chasing it endlessly.

The Feathered Weasel is one of Crimson Desert’s rarer, visually distinct companions, with a feather‑like coat and agile behavior that makes it stand out from standard cats and dogs. Because it spawns around the Echidna Cave in Pailune, it feels like a mini “Easter‑egg” find, and its compact size makes it easy to carry around towns without blocking your view.
