For weeks, we’ve known that the ZTE Axon 7 Oreo update will arrive soon. In fact, we’ve even had a hint of what the new Oreo update will bring to the Axon 7, but we never got our eyes on specifics about the expected release date.

Well, it appears that the wait is finally over as the Chinese company has started seeding an update that brings Android Oreo to the Axon 7. It’s no surprise that Oreo is rolling out to the phone at this point in time. In fact, ZTE will be one of the few OEMs that have started rolling out Oreo to their 2016 flagship phones, the others being Huawei, Sony and OnePlus.

ZTE hasn’t made any official announcement that Android Oreo is ready for rollout on the Axon 7. However, a community forum member has published an image of the phone with Android 8.0 Oreo running the show, but it’s likely that this version is still in the trial phase. If this is the case, it means that it’ll take some time before the stable OS starts rolling out to all Axon 7 users in the country.

If you have not received an OTA notification to download and install Oreo on your Axon 7, you might want to check the Settings menu and try a manual update.
