Asus has just confirmed that three ZenFone 3 variants will be upgraded to Android Oreo before the end of March 2018. We only have a little over a week before the month comes to a conclusion, which means the ZenFone 3 Laser, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Zoom could get Oreo within a week from now.

The ZenFone 3 Oreo update comes nearly three months since the first ZenFone 4 handset started getting the same update. Although not mentioned, we expect that the ZenFone 3 handsets will receive Oreo 8.0 and not 8.1, but unlike the ZenFone 4, this should be the last major OS upgrade for the three handsets, which were unveiled in 2016 with Marshmallow out of the box.

If you own a ZenFone 3 Laser handset with model number ZC551KL, a ZenFone 3 Deluxe with model number ZS550KL or a ZenFone 3 Zoom with model number ZE553KL, you might want to keep an eye on your notifications panel for an OTA notification to download Oreo on your phone.

Alternatively, you can keep checking for the manual update via the Settings menu, but this will only work if the update has been released. As is, Asus has yet to roll out the OS, but it won’t be long.
